As I have studied topics in the world of gifted education, I have developed an interest in researching various areas.

Twice-Exceptional (2E) Students

Understanding the needs and characteristics of students who are both gifted and have disabilities
Developing strategies for supporting 2E students in the classroom and addressing their unique social-emotional needs

Curriculum & Instructional Strategies

Designing differentiated curriculum and instructional practices that meet hte diverse needs of gifted learners
Investigating the effectiveness of acceleration, enrichment, and other educational strategies in promoting the academic growth of gifted learners

Social-Emotional Development

Studying the social and emotional needs of gifted students, including issues related to perfectionism, underachievement, and peer relationships
Developing interventions to support the mental health and well-being of gifted students

Teacher Preparation & Professional Development

Studying the effectiveness of teacher training programs in preparing educators to work with gifted students
Identifying best practices in professional development for teachers to understand the needs to gifted learners
